Often referred to as the “Best Kept Secret in Florida” by locals, Navarre is a quiet community with a long history. Although originally found in 1693 by Spanish explorers traveling from Mexico, it was nearly 200 years before this area was officially recognized as a village and given the name Eagan. Long before it was developed into the picturesque place it is now, Eagan consisted of only a single post office and a handful of families. Four decades later, the area was purchased by Colonel Guy Wyman and renamed by his French wife to "Navarre." Unfortunately, the Great Depression soon followed, and the area saw very little change, remaining a sleepy village for nearly another forty years.

Florida has long been a destination of choice for those seeking warmer weather, lower taxes, and a more affordable lifestyle. The state's appeal has only grown stronger in recent years, particularly for residents of high-cost areas like New York. While the influx of newcomers brings numerous benefits to Florida, such as economic growth and job opportunities, it also has significant implications for the housing market, contributing to low inventory and rising prices.
In a recent blog post by Redfin, there was a discussion about the shortage of homes for sale and the reasons behind it. While it's true that we are currently experiencing a shortage of inventory, I believe that the situation is not indicative of a housing crisis. Rather, it is influenced by several factors that have led homeowners to stay put and contribute to the limited availability of homes on the market.
